1955: One year in the life of a British Family

1955 was a very eventful year. A lot of good time was spent with family and friends, Henry and Daphny got married, then there were summer holidays in Ostend, Belgium. All these events were carefully recorded on film by the unknown photographer.

More that 65 years later the negatives were discovered inside five Ilford canisters in an antique shop in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. Three canisters have hand-written notes: "Holiday Ostend 1955"; "Meg"; and "Holiday 1955 Ostend | Henry + Daphny | Mrs. Wright + David". One canister has factory stamp JUL 1955 on the bottom. This is all we know about the negatives, the photographer and the subjects.
